Who we are

What we collect

Your name, email address, phone number and home address
Details about your home and booking: rooms, extras, how our cleaner gets in (for example key safe or key holding), and any notes you give us
Visit records: dates, check-in and check-out times, the cleaner's location when they check in and out, ratings and comments
Photos taken by our cleaners when they report damage or an issue in your home
Payment details, handled by our payment provider; we don't store full card numbers
If you apply to work with us: your application details
Basic technical information needed to keep you logged in securely

Why we use it

To provide the cleans you book, and manage your account (to perform our contract with you)
To match you with a cleaner and give them the details they need for your visits (contract)
To keep records of visits, damage reports and payments (legitimate interests and legal obligations)
To send our monthly newsletter, if you've agreed or are a customer who hasn't opted out; you can unsubscribe at any time (consent or legitimate interests)
To consider job and franchise applications (legitimate interests)

Who we share it with

Only the cleaner assigned to your visits sees your address, access details and notes, and they only see your cleans. Cleaners see customers' names, not their payment details.

We use trusted providers to run our service: Supabase (database and secure storage, hosted in London), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (emails), Mailchimp (newsletter) and [Stripe (payments)]. Some of these are US companies; where data leaves the UK it's protected by approved safeguards.

We never sell your information.

How long we keep it

Account and booking details: while you're a customer and [2 years] after your last clean
Payment and invoice records: [6 years], as required for tax
Damage report photos: [2 years] after the visit, or longer if a claim is ongoing
Job applications: [6 months] if unsuccessful

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask us to restrict or stop using it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@thetidywren.com and we'll respond within a month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
